Notes about Utilities

$100/month of utilities included AND you’ll get a rebate after the monthly bills come in if your share is below that.  Some former roommates in the past were not good about paying up, hence we’ll now pay it up front.

*Building utility costs in 2017 varied from $272.22  to $366.83.  The roomie share averaged $93.05 based on:

  1. 1/5 Building water = ~ $21.83/mo

  2. 1/3 Flat’s elec & gas = ~ $50.27/mo

  3.  1/3 High Speed ADSL & outgoing land line with unlimited US calling = ~$20.95/mo

Garbage is covered.  Taking the trash cans out to the curb on Thursday nights and bringing them back in Friday mornings is not.

These numbers were based on the flat’s 2016-2017 winter usage, which was higher than it needed to be because someone would leave lights on.  SF PUC has been raising rates so we might not squeak in at last year’s numbers.

Of course, long hot showers, leaving lights on, big oven cooking (vice toaster oven cooking) and jacking the thermostat way up will drastically raise utility costs.
