The Deal

This is a prospective opportunity based on current roommate moving into his new flat as scheduled.

Note: Whether or not I do take in a flatmate is dependent on finding a good fit for sharing my flat.

Available December 15 through 31 May 2020

This is a TEMPORARY roommate situation, perfect for someone coming to the Bay Area on a long term tourist visa, a student, or on a temporary assignment.  A preference to those who are carless and prefer the Bike as a means of transportation over ride sharing, and to those interested in historic preservation, architecture, construction.

Totally AWESOME location – 19th St halfway between Castro St & Dolores Park hence close to J-K-L-M-S-T 24-Divisidero and 33-Ashbury Muni Lines and one block from the Lyft Bike station at 18th & Noe.

Effective rate ==> $1,675/month INCLUDING your share of utilities *

I am on a lot of work related travel through the end of May.  Whether or not I do take in a flatmate who often serves as a house sitter is dependent on finding a good fit for sharing my flat.

Note that I am the home owner and make this opportunity available to only one person at a time.  As such, as a renter, you are considered a “single lodger” and the typical rules for ending the rental agreement are handled differently under CA Code of Civil Procedure and SF Rent Control Law.  At the same time, I have always allowed my flat mates to leave on short notice when an opening happens with friends or their personal situation changes and have refunded all the rent paid in advance prorated to their departure date.

Please read all that’s here before replying

– so you can understand what the deal is and then figure out if it’s a good match for you.  A lot of what you will read is lessons learned from my previous winter roommate experiences, and yes, there are stories behind most anything you find bizarre.  In the past nine years of taking on winter roommates, I have two totally wonderful experiences, many great experiences, and two which were….  horrifying.   One horrible was one too many.

OK, now that you’ve read all of that and if you think you are a good match to share this flat with me, shoot me a note back and include the words “I READ IT ALL” and of course, please tell me about yourself and why you would be a good fit for this flat.
